REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
01. Full Professional Qualifications of a recognized Institute (relevant to the particular
discipline) with three years post professional experience in the relevant field.
OR
02. Degree of a recognized University or equivalent (relevant to the particular discipline) with
seven years post degree experience in the relevant field.

01. The Officer should have a thorough knowledge on health, safety and environmental activities
and a remarkable knowledge and experience in policy making and management.
02. The officer should be well aware of the health and safety measures, internationally
recognized rules, regulations, practices and standards of fire and safety, and environmental policies in relation to the petroleum sector and the ability to update and implement such procedures relevant to the organization.
03. The officer should be conversant with conducting risk assessments, hazard assessments,
HAZOP studies, environmental studies, incident investigations, root cause analysis etc.
04. The officer should be able to prepare disaster management plans, Oil spill response plansemergency response plans etc.

05. The officer should be able to prepare the annual budget estimates and control quality
assurance procedures and should have a fair experience in participating in committee meetings and coordinating with the Heads of Function and outside organizations.
06. The officer should have a thorough knowledge in operations and maintenance with regard
to petroleum products and health, safety and environmental activities of the related plant and machinery.
07. The officer should be able to conduct training programmes and carryout fire and safety
drills.
08. The officer should have knowledge to conduct workshops and practical sessions for the staff
at the plant, terminals, depots, filling stations and implement them where necessary
09. The officer should be able to participate in external conferences and workshops in relation
to the petroleum sector and ability to solve problems that may arise in daily work by coordinating with the relevant government institutes or CPC officials.
10. Should be able to identify requirements and to order and provide advice in ordering fire and
safety equipment.
